Oregon Health Authority Board Meeting recap February 25th, 2019

Thank you to every tattooer who attended our past meetings or has offered to help us navigate this process. Your opinions and ideas are essential.

For those who haven't been informed, we have made some exciting progress. Guest artists can now apply online for their temporary license and they are opening up continuing education so we can put on our own seminars. If you have not received the form for qualifying a seminar/event for continuing education and would like a copy and example form, let us know and we will forward it to you.

The last OHA board meeting took place on Feb 25th at 10am. A partial snow day prevented our volunteers and some of the board members from attending but the meeting resumed with a partial teleconference interface. Every meeting is recorded, and anyone who is interested can watch them online at:

Since there are some issues that the health department has no control over, we are keeping our eyes open for upcoming HECC meetings. Higher Education Coordinating commission controls the aspects of the schools regarding teaching qualifications, student caps, etc. We are under the same umbrella as any trade school which means we will have to petition for special exceptions regarding tattooing.

After this board meeting the next one will be July 8th, 2019. If we start planning now we can schedule another R.O.T. meeting and start to outline our next steps.

Best,

R.O.T.
